KZ440LTD Brake Lever Electrical Cable
06 Sep 2018 17:15
Hello, I am new to this forum but I recently bought a 1980 KZ440LTD as my first motorcycle!
I have been making some repairs to get the bike running correctly and make it more comfortable as a daily commuter. I just put a new front brake lever on (the stock lever would not fit with the new handle bars) and I cannot connect the brake light connector to the new lever. I included pictures of the old cable and the new connector.
Does anyone know where I can get a new wire for the front brake? I have tried searching the forum and looking at diagrams of the bike, but I cannot find any part numbers for the wire. Right now my brake light only turns on when I use the rear brake.
Thanks for any help!

You can cut the old connector off and crimp some female spade terminals on. That's what I did with mine.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationYou can probably use the Fr brake wire harness from a late model KZ1000P police bike. It's about 21" L and has a female bullet connector on the blue wire & a male bullet for brown. and probably the same as yours. just curious. what master cylinder did you get? I have one from a late model Honda CBR500 but haven't installed it yet.
WIRE-LEAD,FR BRAKE SWITCH - Part # 26011-1489

erroneously listed as a clutch switch.
