So I have a 1980 KZ250 and the key is stuck in the ignition. Does anyone have any idea on how I can pull it out without damaging anything.

I would try some penetrating oil on the chance that crud or corrosion is the problem. A cheap and really effective solution is a 50/50 mixture of alto trans fluid and acetone.

A lubricant should help. To remove the broken off piece I would try using two sharp, pointy tools. maybe a couple of single edge razor blades.

edit: was assuming the key is broken off. doh.

Great pics. That's a nifty tool. Is that a locksmith specific tool?

The op says nothing about broken, so I assumed just stuck.

If it's like a Z1 ignition switch, the switch can be separated from the lock cylinder, then the tumblers removed. That would free the key.
