1978 Kawasaki 1000 LTD headlight ??

So , is my bike suppose to have a sealed beam headlight or is the bike supposed to have the headlight system where you change the bulb H4 bulb?????

They came with a sealed beam.

An H4 headlight is brighter. My 81 650 came with a sealed beam, but I installed the headlight from a 750H Ltd --- it was a direct swap. All I needed was the lens unit, H4 bulb & dust cover. The lens unit was cloudy, so I cleaned it with denatured alcohol.

If you upgrade to a new head light (H4) i would go the LED bulb way, (15 Euro for the H4 socket LED bulb)



I do one step more a short time after this and upgrade to an full LED head light system (Highsider TYP3 149 Euro).
Fits plug and play into the head light frame, no mods needed.

Mine was from a 1982 KZ750-H3 Ltd. I'm pretty sure the 81-on KZ750E & KZ750H Ltd models had an H4 bulb with Lens unit & dust cover. and probably other 81-on KZs as well. Checking the 750-E2 lens unit & H4 bulb, Partzilla's x-ref shows quite a few models.

BULB,12V 60/55W,H4 9 >>> just in case. be sure to use the correct wattage bulb. I would assume most 4-cyl KZs are the same.
