Truck lite 1981 kz1100

Truck lites are awesome! I put one on my 900. Tripping around with my cousin, he often comments about how bright it is and can always pick me out in traffic. My reply is I don't have led's in my tail light. Then I have to show him again and remind him my kaw eats bacon.

Are alterations necessary to the original lighting/wiring system, and is the ability to switch from low to high beam maintained?

My HIGHSIDER Typ3 Blue Edition fits perfect in a Z1/Z1B head light reflector frame, no modifications necessary. Electric connectors are plug and play, (European H4 socket connector).

Cool stuff!
Problem with my stock system is the low beam shines too low and the high beam too high.
Are these new headlights precision tuned for use in both low and high beam modes?

everything is plug play with the truck lite. Just pay attention to how the stock headlight is mounted in the house it will help you when putting in the new light. high beam and light beam are a 100 percent better than stock. i just need to figure how to tighten up the bucket mounts to the forks. head light bounces up and down some.

So you just remove the stock headlight and the Truck Lite properly fits in it's place, by reusing the stock retaining ring system?

Yes it will fit with the stock retaining ring.   there is a small amount of play with the light in the housing but i plan on looking at that this week.  headlight is secure in the housing i been ride with it for awhile.  I have you email i can send you a video clip of the small amount of play i have in the headlight

I missed an opportunity to pick up a used one for a good price, but I will keep an eye open for another.
Rather than email, post a youtube link.  That would be cool.
Do these lights have any issues such as condensation or moisture getting inside the lens?

I have a jeep cherokee with the same truck lite but just rectangular shape not round. had it installed for 6 years no issue with condensation or moisture at all. the lights are sealed so you shouldn't have a probelm

Update: The play i had in the headlight was from too issues. One was i didnt have the screws completely tight inside the headlight assembly. the other was from the left hand headlight bracket is loose on the forks so still have figure out how to fix that
