Restomod: Converting switches/controls
14 Jan 2018 23:33
I've swapped the bars on my 82 LTD for those from a 2005 Z1000. Looks really good and I'm in the process of swapping over the rest of the more modern pieces (Master cyl, switches, etc.). Amazingly, most of it seems to plug right in and the bike runs normally with the exception of the headlight: it flashes from low to high at a steady rate. Something I'm missing?

I think the wiring to the 82 LTD main harness is a little different.
If i am right the headlight high/low beam is relay switched by an unit
on the modern Z1000, (it is a push only button not a real on/off switch).
Just a thought, i can be wrong....

ok looks like i might need to solder in some diodes, maybe it's an issue with the load in the circuit. thanks for your help!
