Hey guys I have a 1984 zn1100 with no sparks and start button not working and neutral light not coming on! Can u guys please help me with the diagnosis to these problems???
Is the transmission in neutral?
Is the wire to the neutral switch loose or broken?
Are all the connectors on the new igniter fully seated?
Is the battery fully charged and up to spec?
If it isn't something simple and obvious, then I reckon it is time for the multi-meter and a wiring diagram.

It's hard to say without a diagram, but you may have an interlock system related to the neutral switch and kickstand switch. It won't let the bike make spark if the kickstand is down while out of neutral. You will have to test the various switches to make sure they are working, or bypass them.
