Ignition switch key cylinder swap?
18 Jun 2017 17:47
Hi all,
Has anyone tried grafting an OEM Z-1 ignition switch key cylinder onto an aftermarket ignition switch, such as an Emgo? We're looking to get a new switch in service with an original Z-1 key.

I haven't, but doubt highly the 2 can be combined to work. I worked 34yrs in TV and other electronic repair and had the nickname switchmeister as if a switch of one manufacturer could be adapted to work with another to make a replacement, I was always doing that. Not that that fact matters $0.02 here, but Chinese switches can't be combined with Japanese switches for the most part. Good luck though.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
