sputter and cutting out

A friend of mine has an 80 1000 shaftie while going to bike night it ran fine but going home it was sputtering and cutting out. He Has put new dana coils and wires and I think stock ignition. Has anyone have any input on this?

It sounds like a bad electric connection or shortcut (isolation) on the new coils or a weak connector or current grounding.
Have you checked the battery voltage are @ 12,5 -13,5 Volts
