battery not charging

not charging and stator resistance is high ( outside of specs), replace?? i didnt check its AC output.
but i have nothing coming out of the rectifier to the battery.

Those resistance numbers aren't horrable but if you got no output you got no output. Checking no-load AC Voltage is not definitive anyway, unless the numbers are low.

My next move I guess would be to check the AC output. Make sure it's putting out something around the 50V AC it calls for @4000 RPM. If I don't see any change at the battery ( which I don't), I guess I'm to suspect the rectifier has failed and has no output? Seems like I'm barking up the right tree

I fought charging issues on my 750. Had two different stators that put out 70+ VAC but wouldn't charge at more than 13.5 volts. R/R was good. Wound up with a new Ricks stator and immediately saw 14.5 volts charging.

BTW, the best R/R going these days is the Shindengen SH775. It's the "series" type, not the "shunt" type, and helps protect your stator from failure.

Great thanks for the info I'll look into the r/r and stator. I'm only showing 12.8 at the battery while running

Remember to rev up the engine to 5000 rpm or so before checking voltage.
