Digital Tach & Speedo
13 May 2016 19:32
The ebay item id given is invalid, no result has been sentNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI was wondering if anyone has had any luck with this Gauge? I have gotten the fuel and Speedo to work, but can't get the Tach to work according to the Chinese directions. I have a 1980 KZ1000 with ZRX coils. I have tried gauge tach wire direct to pick up wires , to Coil wires [Both} and wrapping around spark plug wire.

Do they provide a wiring diagram? Is there on on-line pdf instruction sheet?
The Kawasaki electronic tachometers I've seen have a power wire, ground wire & signal wire that connects to the black primary wire at one of the ignition coils.

They did not provided a wiring diagram. I tried connecting what I think is the tach wire to the black coil wire with no success. I have the gauge working for the Speedometer, Fuel , High/ low beam and Neutral.

Here's some wild-guess-work to hopefully help identify the different wires and connectors.
Which color wires to which connector(s) were used for the Speedometer, Fuel , High/ low beam and Neutral ?
Is the odometer also working?
Please confirm what color wires go into each of the other connectors.
Was the stock tach mechanical (cable-driven) or electrical?
tried connecting what I think is the tach wire to the black coil wire with no success. -- which color was thought to be the gauge's tach wire?
As noted by martin_csr, the gauge's tach may need three wires, being power, ground and signal wire that connects to an ignition coil's primary wiring terminal.
Good Fortune!

Thanks for the help. I have identified all the connections. For this Gauge the Yellow/Black is for the Tach. I have everything else working.
My Bike is a 1980 KZ1000ST E with a mechanical Tach. I have upgraded the Coils with a 2001 ZRX coils.
NOt sure if the tach works or Signal from the Black wired points is strong enough?
The Gauge in its self is relatively nice , until I can afford a better unit.
