Aftermarket/Universal Wiring harness

I am finishing up a KZ750 cafe racer build and am looking for a universal, aftermarket wiring harness/computer system much like the Ultima Wiring Harness they make for the big V-Twins. Obviously I am looking for one for a 4 cylinder instead of a twin. I noticed the Ultima only has wiring for just one coil so I don't believe this would work for our KZ bikes.

If anyone knows of a good, compact wiring harness and electronics system for these bikes please let me know.

Something like this: www.amazon.com/Thunder-Heart-Performance...4250D/dp/B001F234SM\

I am not 100% sure but I don't believe that one will work for a 4 cylinder bike. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I looked at them for a second. I will look more thoroughly later. Looks like a good start. I like their wiring harness itself though looks like they lack that all-in-one modern unit I am hoping to find. I will keep hunting.

Have you thought about just making your own harness? :)

Yes. I like making things myself and may do this. The biggest part I was looking for was not really the wires themselves but one of the all-in-one computer units that eliminates the need for all those bigger bulky relays and such. Something like this control unit here: www.jpcycles.com/product/381-001?utm_sou...DnWaTjkrwhoCuaLw_wcB

As far as making one of those, that's not my area of expertice.

Actually I just remembered this: www.fuzeblocks.com/ That may be what I need. I can't believe I forgot about it. I will read up on it more and see if it will cover my needs.

Ive never seen anything like that before, pretty slick looking.
Id be worried about being too far from home and not being able to find parts/fix it if something went south though.

Oh that m-unit looks exactly like what I need! The fuzeblock didn't cover everything I wanted. Looks like it's just a fuse block and nothing else. That m-unit does all of the flasher, horn, light relay functions. Thank you VERY much.

I will look more in detail at it and try to remember to update on if that's what I am going with. If I do go with it I will try to take some pictures and upload instructions for others.

The M-Unit is what I was going to suggest if the $450 price tag does not scare you off. I have seen one installed on a KZ 900 that was in Practical Sportsbikes Magazine October 2013

Yeah one of the links he gave is for about $310 and that's fine. Not at the moment it isn't but I should be able to swing that later. Will do a wiring harness for it too so I can include just what I want and put everything at the perfect length.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Right there with you Leon, I have convinced myself I need one also. No point in making a harness now and getting the M-Unit later. Unfortunately I think I "need" the button switches and M-button also. That's a big chuck of change. :( A guy has to do what he has to do
