Just started playing with my z200 (I'm in uk so it's a z200 over here!) tried wiring direct and looking for a spark, well it turns out the generator flywheel doesn't have any magnets in it!!

Strange thing is there's no damage to anything, so it doesn't look like they've come off during use but more like someone's stripped them out for some reason??

So my question is; Does anyone know which other models share the same generator rotor/flywheel??

A quick search on eBay doesn't through anything up under either z200 or klt 200 which I believe shares the same engine, just wondering if any other models share the same part z400/550 etc as they appear and at first glance look similar.

Thanks
IanD

Lots of good info on kawasaki.com, including parts diagrams, part names, part numbers, models sharing same part, availability, etc. Here's a link for help with navigating the site and finding information.

Thanks Sparky

Thanks for all the info, I've got a few more places to look now!!

Gd4now, I only found the 1st 6 listed, I assume the second part number is a replacement, do you know if that will still fit my 79 z200 and fit with my existing generator plate/coil assembly?

Thanks
IanD

From those measurements it's almost the same size, any chance you could take a load of photos and email then too me? Iandefriez'at'hotmail.com

I've just got mine off and it's approx
Od 131mm
Internal depth 36.8mm
External depth 47.1mm
OD of stator coils is 104.6mm

Does yours have exposed magnets or are they enclosed with a steel insert between them and the coils?

Thanks for your help

Looks like I've just found my needle in a haystack, emailed virtually everyone on eBay last night who was selling similar items and one turned up, the fellas just pulled it off his engine, agreed a price, paid for it, now just awaiting delivery hopefully early next week!
Only thing is it only has 8 of the little 'pins' whereas mine has 9? See above for mine and below for the new one, are they just balancing pins?

See what I mean? Mine has 3 sets of 3, the replacement has 2 sets of 3 and 1 set of 2, but it doesn't look like anything is missing?

Im in a similar predicament with my 78 kawasaki kz200. I cant find the OEM part. I am open to alternative options or aftermarket parts. How do I know which options that I can replace my old rotor / stator with? I have the original stator but the rotor/flywheel is gone. I can replace all of it if I find one that I know will fit.
