my bike, stock 1977 kz650b

ok so my bike ran ok until i took out the old plugs (one at a time) and put new ones in!
i looked around the site but only found few related posts.

the coil wire, at the coil#2 is very loose and rotates around in the coil!!!but wont come out i think it may have come undone and/or broke inside.

can this be fixed? i think they are seald
i belive they are stock coils for my 77 kz650b! they say ( tec )on the side of them. i should get new ones but have to wait until funds allow me to!

thanks heres a pic

To look at the coils on my GPz, I thought they were hardwired but I gave the little "bullet" a twist and...lo and behold the connector unthreaded and allowed easy replacement of plug wires.
I've been told that some coils are hardwired and some aren't...I lucked out. :P

Get out the OHM meter. If the primary resistance is similar they'll probable work fine.

i tried to use the honda coils but would not fit in mount! so i put old ones back on! well i got the bike going, so it was not a coil!
i think i didnt have fuel reaching engine, as it would backfire through carbs!(means it lean i think) i cleaned petcock (agian) and turned on ,waited for a minuite and choked it and she fired right up. no problems so far. i road for 2 block or so and she went very well. but coils will need replaced here soon!!

I would toss those coils and buy new ones with removable plug wires... Dyna coils work well and are reasonably priced at www.z1enterprises.com

If you don't have the money, buy new plug wires, some epoxy and cut off the old plug wires and drill them out carefully. I think most are just inserted onto a metal barb and then sealed with epoxy. Push the new wire into the hole and make sure the metal lead inside the wire contacts the barb. Then seal with epoxy again.

It would probably be easier to buy new coils.
