I just put a 750 into my 650 SR frame and got everything straightend out but my battery has a hard time turning over the 750 motor. I even bought a new one to make sure it wasn't just a bad cell or 2.

So, does the 750 need a bigger battery? or can I use the same one and I have other issues

I think I have it figured out. The 750 is suppose to use 12 amps, and the 650 is only at 10 amps.

Can someone confirm this for me?

edit: new battery didn't do it.

When I switched over to the 750 motor, I just replaced the generator cover with the 650 one, and put my dyna S on instead of the stock 750 electronic ignition.

Any ideas?

Arent the charging systems different between the 650 and 750. I used everything from the 750 on mine. My battery has been in a 78 650SR and my 77 650B and it runs my 80 750 motor fine

Off topic, but (assuming your still out at school) by the time your out for the semester I should be able to get those parts together for you.

Going into archives to see, I remember having a problem like this

(EDIT) This is the only thing I could find when I was having my troubles.

Starting problem is fixed, now we are working on ignition issues :)

I hope incognito0160 will post his ignition problem here because it involves a Dyna and I don't know anything about them.
