KZ1000 Dyna S / Timing procedure

Just installed a Dyna S ignition on my 77 KZ1000, can someone please give me a good simple rundown on how to do static timing? I have the instructions that came with the ignition, but I'm hoping someone on here can describe it better for me as I'm not very experienced with doing things of this nature. thanks in advance...

Much praise to you, good sir. If I still can't figure it out with your instructions, I think I shall go back to coloring with crayons and forget about tinkering with motorcycles. This is perfect, thanks again.
