Drum Roll..............................Nothing
27 May 2010 20:10
I changed the handle bars on my bike and with all back together I went to start it and..........nothing. Zilch. All plugs are together and battery has twelve volts, all lights work and I have 12 volts to the run/off switch. I tried to check voltage with the start button depressed but had a hard time making contact with meter probes............ Any ideas? The bike has never had a problem starting and before my tinkering worked fine.
Thanks

Open up the switch pods on the handlebars looking for pinched wires or bad grounds. Checked inside the headlight housing for loose/disconnected wiring? Any fuses blown?

Does it turn over but not start, or nothing at all when you push the button?
If nothing at all, check the clutch safety switch (if you have one). I broke a wire on mine when I changed my bars over. I ended up bypassing it at the harness.

Kill switch...
The same ignition switch output (brown conductor) feeds the lighting as well....
You have lights but no power/battery voltage being delivered to the starter/kill switch/coils.
Not sure of your Kawi but should be similar where the handle bar is normally chassis/battery ground potential....
With the kill/run switch activated, grounds out the power to the starter & coils....
For the KZ900 as example...
