Hi there, Im new to this website and also as of today I am a new KZ owner. 1980 kz440. Planning on making it a bobber. I have no spark to the plugs right now, I ordered a new set of points and condenser. I am going to start there, if need be does anyone know where I can find an ignition coil for this bike? not looking to buy used, not a big fan of used electrical equipment! thanks a lot

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationDo you have Genuine Kawasaki service manual? If not than get one. They are worth every penny.

Go to Z1 and get the four Ohm EMGO coil for $36. That's what I have on my 750 twin, works great.

You are so right about not buying used coils that are 30 years old..... been there, learned that the hard way.

This will depend on the ignition he has on the bike. I am not sure what the 80 440 had. points or IC.

The four Ohm coil will work safely with the electronic ignitions which are designed to use a slightly lower impedance coil. I seriously doubt anybody would feel the difference the higher Ohm coil would make.
