ingnition timing help needed

i have a 1976 kz900 and i need to know how i would go about timing the ignition cant seem to figure it out and also i have pod filters on my carbs and they spit from time to time what would be causeing that it is all stosk besides 4-1 v@h and 130 main jets

Timing -- Still using the stock points ignition? :unsure:

Spitting -- When were (intake) valve clearances last checked? :unsure:

it has 20k miles valves never been messed with it is spitting out of the pods only when it is cold when it gets warm it stops and thanks for the diagram
