spark plug wire question

I have updated my ride with some new Dana 2.2 ohm coils. I did the WiredGeorge coil mod for some good power but I have a question on the wires. I currently have copper core wires but I was wondering do I need the NGK resistor caps or should I run the graphite core wires.

My girl has factory electronic ignition and everything else is pretty much stock. She is a 1982 Kz750-H3.

Hopefully the snow will find another home so my girl can get out and enjoy some air.

thanks,

max

What came from the factory on the older 4's was stranded copper wire for the sparkplug leads(or as the Brit's call them, High Tension Leads).

The resistor sparkplug caps were designed to reduce the RFI when the sparkplugs fired(the pop and snap heard on radio's).

For higher output,I'd recommend 7-8MM copper sparkplug leads witout any resistor caps.

What you don't want to do is have both Graphite sparkplug leads and resistor caps as it will greatly reduce the spark energy.

Never select a coil with a lower resistance than your ignition system - this will cause the coils to overheat and burn out... It is OK to select coils with a slightly higher resistance.

Better check the stock electronics...

Don't worry, you have the right ignition system for those coils. You need to use solid core wire for the bike. Do not use graphite core wire. You can use 7 or 8 mm wire. If you can't find any wire, I have a whole spool of 7mm solid core reinforced silicone wire. You can have what you need for buck-&-A-half a foot. my guess would be about 5 feet.
