Headlight conversion HID? Halogen?

That is just a blue Halogen bulb and not a ballast controlled HID Xenon bulb. There is no filament in a HID Xenon system. It is just exited Xenon Gas with hi frequency 30KV The HID system only draws 3A or less. The Halogen bulb draws 2.5x as much. About 6.5A on the older bikes if you convert them to a Dyna ignition and have a halogen bulb in them you top out the charging system because they only put out about 12A. The Dyna ignition draws about 6A.

Ah, ok, i didn't realise there were differences in ballast's, i just thought there were thick (old) & thin (new) ones.

I'm only doing this so my electrical system has an easier time doing its job.

Ballast technology has advanced quite a bit over the last three years.

Ok, so how do you tell an efficient one from an inefficient one?

Just did a conversion for a local County Sheriff's Deputy. I mentioned that it was not DOT approved. The response was, that neither was 90% of the modifications we do on these bikes. He mentioned that they stopped giving out tickets for HID mods, 6 months after they came on the market.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI have to use a BA20D bulb, would this kit be suitable providing the correct reflector was used?

Turn signal flashers designed for led duty will eliminate your problem. They are available at a number of places like www.cwswiring.com .

I'm interested in getting one or two of these (one for my buddy). I have a rectangular headlight on my KZ750 L3.. looks like your kit has that shape reflector?

And do you have access to other options? I've seen some dual brightness kits online, and I'd like my regular running light to be a bit brighter than a plain old LED... it'd be nice if it was rideable at low speed, like my OEM headlamp.

This is very exciting. Got a long ride coming up and it'd be nice for this one to have actual visibility!

No idea, but I would like to convert my bike to a HID! I have the round bucket though, and it's been a while since I checked out this thread. Has anyone done a round light yet?
