Headlight conversion HID? Halogen?

All of my kits use the 6000K color bulbs. This is only lightly bluish and is considered pure white. I have found that will give the most amount of visible light.

I've had Otto's HID kit in for several months now, no complaints! When I first installed it, I ran into a few electrical problems, as it turns out my regulator and/or rectifier was buggy; once that was replaced I was golden. It does indeed put out significantly more light than any other lights I've tried and if it's adjusted properly, no one will bug you about it. I live in Southern California and haven't gotten any kind of warnings from the cops at all, much less high beam flicks from oncoming traffic.

I highly recommend his kit. I'll even recommend the customer service! He patiently answered all of my questions, some of which were sternly written due to my frustration. If you have a problem with any part of the kit, he will make sure the problem is taken care of. If anyone has questions about using the kit, feel free to reply or PM myself.

Most of the modern ballasts will work down to about 10VDC but they require completely rectified power. If you have a bad diode in the rectifier, it will pulse and the ballast will intermittently shut down and you have to re-set it by shutting the light off and than back on.

The lens on the light must be just smooth clear glass. Otherwise it will refract too much and blind oncoming traffic.

You might find some off-road spot lights that would be the same stile, but they would take a special bulb. These also do not take the standard H-4 bulb.

the first one you posted, 750steve, also is set up for the H4 Bulb. harness has the H4 plug-in. Seems like a cheap set up with Ballast and harness etc. 1 year warranty.

That's about $149 US with postage, which is not expensive. there are a couple of problems with that kit. 1) the dual-Xenon will not fit in a standard headlight bucket. This means it will not be even close to fitting in the small bucket you want to use. I attempted to put one in my large bucket on the GPz1150 and unless I cut out the whole back end of it and pulled out all the wires there was no chance. 2) The mini ballast gets quite hot and is very inefficient. This is why most people do not like them. 3) The mini ballast is not digital, it is magnetic old technology and takes almost a full minute to warm up ant run the light at full intensity.

This 77 KZ 1000 has a halogen HEI light. I got it this way. The P.O. put a Yamaha volt reg on it.
Don't know the numbers. All I know it works, charges and is bright!
