Gauge cluster swap..

I recently purchased a 1983 GPz 550 but it is missing the instrument cluster. I tried looking everywhere for one but i was only able to find units for 84 and up. I don't mind using the speedo and tach from a an 84, even though I wiuldn't have any warning lights. I just need to know which is the signal wire for the tach. Does anybody have a wiring diagram for an 83 and an 84? Any help would be appreaciated. Thanks!

I have an 82 GPz1100 B2, with the electric tach that also becomes a voltmeter when a button is pushed on the instrument cluster. There will be three wires: A BLACK wire(probably the signal wire from the left ignition coil), A BROWN wire(probably a common wire to the instrument lights) and a BLACK with YELLOW stripe, the ground circuit found all over the bike.

There is a wiring diagram for the 1983 GPz550 (and perhaps the 1984...but I didn't look) on this site. Go to the KZ Information tab above, then to the Filebase tab, then to the year button, then scroll down to your model and open the file there. :)
