Igniter Question
05 Oct 2009 05:35
I own a 1981 kz 440 d1 twin. I was wondering if anybody knows an electronic ignition kit for this or a replacement ignition module that will work. Much apprciated is the help. ( i am very tired of paying 400+ dollars for such a unit. but if aftermarket i would consider it.

That geocities server is closing this month so it may not be up for long.

If you scroll all the way down you'll see the kz twin's version.
I'll post the diagram here in case it's gone from the server.

it had a bad grounding circuit. the bike ran good until hot and then it had a fault where the yellow/blue wire(ground side of coil circuit.) was staying closed and not allowing it to release until cooled down. and just to be funny i dont really like the price of 500 leaves of lettuce to get a new one either

it had a bad ground circuit fault once it was hot. then it would die and have to cool before it would work again.what is wrong with your stock one.

If you do the GM module modification, I'd suggest encapsulating the diodes and resistor in some RTV compound for moisture and vibration protection.
