ok I did the coil mod and my battery read 12 volts when the key isnt on but when I turn the key on my battery and coils (dyna 3 ohm) are only reading around 8 and a half volts and my bike wont start with the starter button.If I kick start the bike my coils read 12 volts can someone please give me an idea thanks

FSM says a fully charged battery should read 13.0 - 13.5 volts.

sounds like you may need a new battery

Would remove battery.
If needed, bring fluid levels up with distilled water.
Charge overnight (2 amps max).
Specific gravity test (little floating balls).
If doubtful, have battery load tested.
If tests okay, reinstall, being sure of clean snug terminal connections.
And also assure good solid ground connection where negative battery cable attaches to engine.
Good Luck!
