running 2 x 6V headlights in series?

Hi, I like the look of the FatBob dual headlight setup and I was wondering if I could rig a set of 2x6 volt lights from smaller bikes together in seies as a dual headlight setup. I have a 12 volt light, but it's not on yet, so before I do any mounting I would like to know about the 6 volt lights. Thanks

If you can find 6V headlights, you can wire them in series and run off 12V.

cool, thanks. I found a few on ebay from small (<200cc) bikes, just wondering if anyone else has done it, or if there were any issues with doing it.

9am, just keep in mind that if you burn out one beam in one light you will lose the second beam as well since they are wired in series. Of course, it'll be no different than losing, say, low beam on a single 12 volt lamp setup.
Just a thought....

you have a point. I am going to stick with the 12 volt lamp I have, then go to the HD dealer and look at how the fatbob is setup...ie. if there are any failsafes I can include when I hook it up...unless they just have 2 small 12 volt lights in parallel, that would make more sense...but do they make 12 volt headlights that are half the diameter of regular ones?

Both Dennis Kirk www.denniskirk.com and JP Cycles www.jpcycles.com carry a lot of HD related lights.
