82 kz750 ltd starter switch
27 May 2009 15:41
one of the problems with tearing your motorcycle completely apart and then doing work on it here and there is you might (if youre like me and disorganized) lose some parts. so far ive been lucky to find everything ive misplaced until tonight. while putting the finishing touches on electrical system, it was brought to my attention that the plastic piece that the throttle cable threads through on the starter switch housing is broken. whats more, the other half of the starter housing that holds it on the handlebars is gone, as in M.I.A. so it looks like im going to have to go fishing on ebay. no biggie. but i was wondering, after doing a few searches already, ive come up kinda empty, so what is the technical term for the starter switch located on the handlebars. starter switch seems practical but you never know. thumb starter. starter button. something dumb maybe. and while im at it. has anyone got one of these laying around they'd be willing to sell to me. if not, no biggie.
1982 Kawasaki KZ 750LTD. i wanted the big boy 1000, but there's like a billion of these 750 ltds running around. so what the hey!

It's either the right or left control housing. Good luck on your search.

On the 80's GPZ series bikes it was called a run/stop switch with start being in the center of the detent.
