Re-Wiring Plugs Under Side Cover
18 May 2009 11:13
Does anyone know which of these plugs offered by Z1E (if any) matches the stock plugs that are under the side cover? I need to completely redo the plugs as the wire shielding has broken on many and the wires are starting to fray.

They are listed on page 4 and 5 of the link.
Thanks!

If Z1 does not have what might match up to the connectors, try these two places:
1. www.easternbeaver.com
2. www.vintageconnections.com
With the correct electrical contact removal tool, most contacts can be removed, heatshrink tubing to cover the damaged wire used or new wires installed and the connector re-used.

Hmmm, I'll have to check this evening when I get back home, I think the electrics didn't change between the '76 A4 and B1 that I have.

I didn't think of removing them intact. I'll have to see if that looks viable in the state they are in.

You should have a green plug to use the combo unit.

If not sure contact either Jeff or Steve @ Z1E, they reply fairly quickly.

It's more than just the rectifier/regulator that I need to rewire. There are a total of three plugs that connect to that panel and all of them need to be cleaned up.
