Nothing for granted

My 84 GPZ 550 was not charging so I thought I would check the sator . Pulled the cover and there wasn't one no flywheel nothing ! This was a former race bike so I guess I should have known. So what years if any parts for this application interchange with my bike ? I have spent a fair amt of time and some money on this bike and it runs great. So I need some juice at a budget price. Found an 89 zx600 h1 stator assembly on egay will it work ? Thanks

Cross-referencing can be done at Kawasaki.com in the parts diagrams -->> the 80-86 KZ/ZX 550s have the same stator.
