Hi all,

I'm having some trouble starting my kz-1100. Here's the deal, I hit the start and the engine starts to turn, maybe a half turn maybe a quater maybe even a full revolution, then the starter whines.

I know what you're going to tell me. starter clutch. but I took off the stator cover and turned the starter clutch by hand and it appears to be working properly (at least by hand).

Can the starter clutch cylinders wear down to the point they are not working when the starter is engaged?

Also, can it be the starter? Cylinder goes into compression stroke and the starter stops?

I can usualy get it to start by either repeadedly hitting the start button or by putting it in gear and bumping it a little then hitting the starter again. sometimes this works sometimes it don't.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks
