Anyone ever remove the reserve lighting device?

Not that I think that my reserve lighting device is not working properly, I just want to clean up the wiring and I think bypassing this will help. I dont know where it mounts any way, it just hangs by my air box.

Yes. It's not too difficult to bypass it out, if you have a wiring diagram.

If you need help let us know.

I've always wondered this, and now seems like a good time to ask...

What does it do?

The reserve lighting device or system is designed to have the high beam come on if the low beam burns out. The high beam will operate at a lower voltage. This will enable you to get home and replace the bad bulb.

From what I understand it is supposed to switch from one filament , either high or low, to the other if one were to burn out.
