The price of a Dyna S has come down dramatically in the past few years so I would imagine more folks will have bought Dyna S ignitions recently so there may just be somewhat a lack of experience. Check www.z1enterprises.com for a price on a Dyna S. I am not sure where you would price the Boyer ignition.

Boyer ignition eh? Mine ran for 30 mins, long enough to get to work, wouldn't start, then started smoking and melted a hole in the box.......this was a brand new system, with their coils.
I also did not like the dodgey crimp on connectors and the fact that I had to swap the coil wires around to the opposite of what the wiring diagram specified to get the bike to run at all.
My Dyna has been fantastic up to this point though, and a waaaay easier install than the Boyer.
Maybe Boyer had something to do with Locas.....

Regards, Andrew.
