turn signal problem
02 May 2008 17:04
I got a 1980 kz650 ltd i put new turn signals on recently, they are the small ones that are not led but anyway when i turn them on they blink every 5 seconds once and are extremly slow blinking but when i had the original set of blinkers they seemed to work okay at regular speed. how do i correct this also idk if this helps but every time i put my bike on a fastt charge the turn signals blink slightly faster but not by much

Most flashers are load sensitive, meaning the load determinines how fast the blinkers blink or if they blink at all. Go to Napa or a similar place that sells quality parts and get a "heavy duty flasher made for trailer towing". These flash regardless of load. I've said this before, but will repeat. Do "NOT" go to Autozone, Checkers, WalMart or any of those chinese crap joints or you'll never get a flasher that works. Pay the extra $0.75 for a part that works.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Yeah it's the flaser Relay you want to upgrade. I bought an electronic one for $10 that was a dirrect fit, two prong like the stock unit.
