HELP ... IC Igniter Needed FAST !!!

My project seems to be stalled at the moment ... I gave up on fixing my 1980 KZ750 LTD H1 due to electrical problems that I couldn't seem to find .... well it's at the shop now and they've narrowed things down to a bad IC Igniter .... anyone got a good used one they would like to sell ???? The shop has found a NOS igniter but they want $400 for it and that's waaaayyyyyy out of budgit for me at this time !!!

Check this all out for yourself to make sure I haven’t mixed things up: According to Kawasaki.com. the 1980 KZ750 LTD H1 (and a bunch of KZ550/650/and 750’s) takes igniter part number 21119-1040. The following eBay auction shows that igniter (used) and says “Guaranteed to function properly or your payment, including shipping, will be promptly refunded.” There may be other eBay auctions with the same igniter.

Or you could just go to Loudhvx's website
and follow the directions to build your own.

It's pretty easy to do and costs less
than $50, and it's made from
commonly available parts
(auto parts store and Radio Shack).

Thanks guys ... been doing some homework and have kindof confirmed what 650ed has said ... the igniter I need will interchange from several different models .... I will be doing some ebaying today !!!

Jeez ... I am still hoping to get to ride this thing a bit before the season ends but my window of oppportunity is rapidly closing !!!

Actually make one yourself man...with Loudhvx's help you can do it in about 2 hours..save tons of money

I am lovin' all the electrical upgrades I'm finding on this forum .... this winter I'm gonna try making it through several of the electrical upgrades .... but for now I'm just kindof paniking ... spent all summer rebuilding this old bike .... and am hoping to get to ride it a bit before cold weather !!!!

Anyways .... found a good used and garantied igniter today at the local motorcycle junkyard (B&B Cycles, Mansfield, Ohio) .... cost me a hundred bucks but I have it in hand and the shop will have it in turn come Monday !!!
