carb size

I thought i had 29mm smoothbores.Which is what the previous owner said.But today being curious i measured the opening,it was 1.75 inches.Which if i converted right is 44 mm.But if i was off it still puts me at 38mm plus.Just say.
I have a kz1000 with 1075 plus dyna coil.and ignition.
so my thought was,am i optimizing my performance.So i think i will take it to a specialist to sync them and the dyna ignition for me.

Sounds to me like you need to measure the venturi end rather than the intake side
