Why does my Headlight jitter so much?

Why does my Headlight bounce up and down so much? I know there needs to be a little play(so the filiment doesnt break), but driving at night is really annoying when my light is so moveable?
I've notice that the new bikes dont have the same lights(do they?)? Is there an aftermarket headlight I can put on my KZ brighten the ride and not have to have so much play in it?

That could be alot of things. One of my bikes was missing the bottom support (only had the side supports so it bounced alot). Another one has 15w instead of 10w in the forks, so being extra firm, causes the front to be bumpier and makes the like bounce... Then again maybe your light isn't screwed in tight into it's holder ring... and so on...Why does my Headlight bounce up and down so much?...

The little spring inside there keeps it from jittering.

Little spring? Am I missing something? Where is the spring? Inside the headlight or on the mounting cluster?

I'd suggest checking out the diagram for your headlight to see if any of the mounting hardware (screws, washers, bolts, nuts, spacers, etc.) is missing, incorrect, or loose and allowing your headlight to bounce up and down.

I think Snakebyte might be referring to the focus adjustment spring which keeps tension between the rim/ring and the headlamp itself.
