I intstalled a Dyna electric igniton, dyna coils and wires on my 74 Z1 a month ago. I don't have a timing light, but just am trying to figure out where to set the timing too. It seems to like it best at full advanced. That yelds the highest idle speed. I don't get any knocks or anything when riding. But where is it supposed to be at? Would having it too far advanced effect performance?

It will affect performance below 3500 rpm.

And it will probably wipe out your starter mechanism somewhere when it kicks back while trying to start it.
