Miss

I just went for a ride with a freind, and he drives very fast.i was running in 5th at 6500 to 7000 rpm and it just died for a second (like the electrical died)then backfired, then resumed ok? it did it a couple of differant times but not allways?
my first thought was the dayna 2000 rey limiter but it is set at 8500rpm and i can hit 8500 rpm.
Any ideas? electrical,carbs?i think i was running on the pilot system,and the plugs look nicely tanned on the pilots(havent checked plugs on the needles yet)

Just had a similar problem but mine happened at lower rpm.
It is gone now and dont know why.
