Will an 80 fit a 79

I think fried either the ignition or the kill switch.. Will an 80 kill switch fit my 79? My ignition was kind of jacked anyway, so I just bought one for $15.00.. I had no keys for it just a screwdriver.. I found an 80 kill switch too, I haven't purchased it though, I'm not sureI need it yet or if it will work on my bike..
