I'm about to give myself a heart attack trying to figure out this wiring crap. If anyone has a 77 KZ 650 out there coudl you please take a picture of the rectifier. I would greatly appreciate it.

Here is a picture of an NOS one that I just got outbid on :angry: . As to the location you can find it under the battery box.

I kinda wanted a pic of one on a bike but thanks anyway. I think i see my problem anyway. The previous owner put some other rectifier on, it doesn't look like that.

As you may or may not be aware the 77 650's use a different type charging system than the later 650's. My rectifier started smoking last week while I was messing around with this bike. I called a buddy of mine who has tons of NOS parts and he did not have one but told me the last price he had for one was $168.00 :pinch: . Just for kicks I tried finding one on Ebay and found that NOS one. I tried to snipe it at the last second which meant waking up at 2 Am only to get out sniped :angry: . It may have turned out for the best though after doing a bit of research here I found this website for a guy that makes new ones and they only cost $45.00 with a lifetime guarantee:woohoo: . You might want to check out his site there is a lot of good info to be found there.

It mounts to the bottom of the battery box if that helps.
