Which way does the rotor bolt turn to take the bolt out, so that the rotor can be replaced before installing the new stator ? Does it turn counter or clockwise ? Man it sure feels tight. Thanks guys.. Wayne

Take the bolt off the stator like any bolt, counterclockwise. Tighten the puller into the stator clockwise to remove the stator.

Like Ron said, remove the bolt like normal and thread in the puller (which you can use the rear axle bolt if you don't have a puller). All you have to do is thread the bolt in snug and whap the end of it head on with a dead blow hammer. The rotor should fall right off. The vibration from the dead blow hammer makes the rotor let go of the crank like no ammount of torque on the puller bolt will.
