Hello from the northwest
26 May 2007 22:28
Hello, I wanted to introduce myself, I am a long time Kawasaki Owner haveing currently a few mid 80's bikes...
I just got an 82 kz1100 shafty, but it has a couple melted wires... I would like to know if anyone has SIMPLE wireing diagram I can see ~something like a 5 wire sys that an old honda can use?... sorry to make my first post a plea for help but I dont want to become as frustrated with this bike like I did with my zl9
Or is there anyone in the upper north west that could assist me in re-doing a few wires? I can pay but I cannot afford shop rates.

Here's one for a 550 or 750, I'm not sure if it will translate directly to your 1100, but I think it will be similar, at least.
The purpose of this diagram is get it down to the core functions in order to start and run.
The doubled-up connections on the ignition switch are not necessary, but might help if the switch seems flakey.
