Hello again everyone! I hope you are all well!

I am trying to compile a basic diagram for the wiring of an engine for the kz650b

This is what i have so far:
www.bradyshome.com/kz650bwd.jpg

but i don't know what that extra blue wire is off of the contact breakers is. also, if you could let me know if this would work that would be awesome!

The generator is not their on purpose because i have a constant 12 volt source. but eventually i will include all of the other stuff. but now i just want to see if i can get the engine started.

also, which coil goes to what cylinders?

Thanks again everyone!

1977 KZ650-B1 frame and engine. Random pile of parts for the rest.

You might go here:

wiring diagrams

and see if there is some help there.

I think the blue wire is for the oil pressure switch. It is on mine.

Yes, blue is the oil pressure switch.

Total-loss electrical system? I.E. no charging system?

yeah, that was what I was using to figure it out, i believe that is the basic concept on how it works so i will try it out and check voltages and what not... and the oil pressure switch eh? i guess it must be underneath the breakers. thanks!

WELL, yes and no. I have all the components for the charging system, but I'm a poor starving college student trying to resurrect this motorcycle to save on gas, and living out of an apartment and using the back of my truck as a garage, I need to test things before I put it all back together. My landlord doesn't like me putting random motorcycle parts on the back porch, so I need to get the engine operational so I can get the bike build in one fell swoop.
