instrument panel compatability

will an instrument panel assembly from a kz650 work on a 1979 kz1000? will the speedo/tach cables match up? does it mount the same? thanks for the help.

I don't know about the wiring, if you're doing the whole panel, but the tach and speedo from a KZ650 will work fine on a 1979 KZ1000 except the redline is different and the KZ650 speedo only goes to 140 where the 1000 goes to 160. This is on the KZ1000A and B. KZ1000 shaft is a whole different thing alltogether.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

well, its going on a 1979 kz1000 shaft. i found this setup for my son. his was messed up. so this will not work?
