Timing advancer lube?

What is the correct kind of lube to use on the timing advancer. The factory service manual I have states to use something I have never even heard of. My bike seems to run fine but this is one of the things I have not done since bringing the old beast back to life (lubing the timing advancer) and think I should probably do so since it has probably not been done in quite a while.

I've used disc brake lube, my manual says to use a light film of oil (don't say what kind of oil)
