please help me I have a 1982 kz 750 ltd that has a starter problem it doesnt always engage!after a couple of turnovers it will start up!however I also have a 1982 kz 550 gpz can I switch the starters?Will they bolt up? are they different? and has anybody done it?

Many starters from various Japanese bikes will cross fit different models. Go to
www.kawasaki.com
and look up the parts diagram for the bikes these starters came from under "owner info" and check part numbers.
You may not have a bad starter anyway. If it works some times but not everytime, it could be the clutch of the wrong shims under the cogged wheel that drives the starter.

550 starter is smaller
1981 KZ550 D1 gpz.

If you actually go to kawasaki.com and get the part number for your bike, you can plug it into the part number search and it will tell you all the models that used the same starter.
