The spark plug wires that came on my bike don't seem to be the originals. But, since I'll be doing the coil mod and wires are fairly inexpensive I thought about getting another set. But first, is there a way (resistance check) to check these wires to see if they are working properly? If I place the two ohm meter leads on either end of the plug wire and read 0 ohms then are these wires work correctly. Is this a reliable test? There are no cracks or burn marks, they look great.

Should be pretty reliable. That's how I've always checked them. Won't tell you if there is a split somewhere that allows the spark to ground out of course, but it will tell you that you have a good connection from one end to the other.
