Had a problem with my 78 KZ. Everytime I stomped the brake, it would blow the main power fuse. Naturally, I thought I had a short somewhere. I pulled the seat and the tank and there it was... the most Godaweful wiring mess I have ever come across. I counted 5 shorts in 5 seperate circuits before I got disgusted.

Every factory connection had bee removed and soldered, then taped. That part was acceptable (I guess), but another wiring mastermind had been in there and decided that household wirenuts were the way to go!

Needless to say I'm not happy. Is there anyone out there that makes a full replacement wiring harness for the KZ1000? I can probably track down a good used one but I'd prefer a new one if possible. I can always make my own but I'd really just like to ride.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Failing a new harness, I saw a link the other day to a company that specializes in the bullet and Molex style connecters used on old bikes.

Oh, here it is, Vintage Connections
