Oil Temp Gauge

After a lot of hard work, I got an instrument cluster from a Vulcan hacked in to my kz1100 and working fine. I noticed that this cluster has an oil temp gauge... is it possible to connect this? Where do I need to add the thermocouple, and can I steal one off of a different bike?

Im planning on getting a VDO guage sometime.... you can hook it up to either side of the motor where the drain plugs are. (around the crank area) you may have to drill and tap the plug
