For a bit of background, my bikes been having a bit of trouble, I'm trying to get her ready for summer. I cleaned the carbs the other day and put thenm back on tonight.

Anyhow, she'd running crappily. one cylinder is firing hard, one not at all, and the other two are puffing smoke. And the one that isn't working switched from 1 last week to 2 tonight. So I think it must be power to my coils or a related issue. I've got a dyna-s and i wired up my coils like wiredgeorge says.

My only question other than a general plea for help is, could it be that my coils arent getting the proper power from the alternator because the battery is low? Bike's been sitting for three months.

Make sure you have a fully charged battery as WG's coil mod is designed to provide a full 12 volts if done properly, check WG' wiring diagram and make sure you did it right... :)

I'm curious - why don't you suspect your carbs if that's the only thing that has changed? Like for instance, when you cleaned them (and you didn't mention *how*), could you have dislodged some debris that is now clogging somewhere? How about float settings? Could they have been accidentally bumped? Did you re-balance the carbs after mounting them? Are you sure they are fully seated in the manifolds? You can see where I'm going with this... hope it helps...

Oh, the carb cleaning never changed a thing, i just sprayed some stuff in the bottom end of them and blew everything out with compressed air, and repeat.

I really think its ignition related.

Exactly when did the problem start? Was it after the carb work?, the dyna s?, or the coil mod? That can tell where the problem is. If you just put in the dyna s, throw away the blue connector supplied in the kit and solder that connection (trust me), then recheck your coil mod wiring, let us know...
