I have a broken needle on the speedo of my KZ550C3. How can I get in the guage to fix it? I assume it is sealed. Can anyone point me in the direction of a guide to get in there? Thanks!

you have to peel or cut the ring that holds it together with a dremel and cutoff wheel carefully. the needle comes off pretty easy with a pair of teaspoons...i know funny but its the best tool for the job...coffee can with vinyl tape wrapped on the opening makes a good holding fixture by the way.......steve

jasenr - If the needle is broken off, I suggest you just look for a replacement speedometer. The needle is VERY difficult to refix... it sits on a very delicate metal shaft that connects to the magnetic spring gizmo that moves it... the whole thing is kind of dainty and once the needle breaks off, I have never had much luck fixing the needle back on. The write up gets you into the gauge but I doubt you will have much luck. If you do, write up how you did it as I would be interested. I have a number of gauges with broken needles.
